>~* Flickering Fireflies In The Night *~ © Mysteria 01/2002 ~* Click Link To Play Twilight *~ God gave me gifts of sound and sight, that I may know the day from night. Sky robin's egg he painted blue, then said, “I have a deed for you.” The grass he painted brightest green, Asked, “Do you like what you have seen?” “If you do, do this for me… show it to THEM who cannot see.” “THEY feel sunshine, cool of shade, the chill of ice, the sharp of blade. THEY hear whippoorwill’s song so sweet, without YOUR words it’s not complete.” “Young poet show them all you see, use all of YOUR ability. Words are color feel free to paint, Be wild with it ~ use no restraint.” “Take not for granted gift of sight, flickering fireflies in the night, red apple ripe, young lover's swoon, the stars at night, a slivered moon.” Treasure your precious sight so dear, THEY can only taste, smell, touch, and hear. art: Edward Robert Hughes ~ Midsummer's Eve ~*~ I wish to thank Tim who helped me re-work a few lines here and there so it would make the message I was sending out even clearer! Thank you Tim. There is nothing means more to me than my faith, my family and my friends. [This message has been edited by Mysteria (05-29-2002 09:14 AM).] |

(kiss on cheek) This is breathtaking, sweet friend, I LOVE IT, we all love you so much, I love the art and music too! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Sharon, your poems always have a message! But this is a good one. I am trying to appreciate everything these days, instead of lamenting what is missing. This is a good reminder. Sandra |

My Dad's sister has been blind for over 30 years. She copes exceedingly well (lives alone)... but coping isn't the same as seeing. This is beautiful, Mysteria... a well written reminder. *S* |

You are all so special! I am glad you enjoyed this one it was inspired by a person I see dealing with depression whose husband has lost his eye sight due to a tumor at the age of 32. He said to her, "I think it would have been better having never seen a thing as this loss is more than I can stand". I told her to try to get him interested in speaking his feelings so they can start communicating and they would turn their feelings into poems. They now have something that they are working on that has brought them back together, as they were drifting apart, so in this poem she is the "young poet" and his eyes, so he can see. Janet Marie, I was just waiting for something to write to use this as guess what it is in my top 5 favorites too. Interloper: I search and search for pictures, but start in Webshots, and right click and save any you like. Find a place to keep them (go to freeservers.com) there is a good list of free bandwidth storage places there. The music I have also collected and will now send you my favorites in an email. How's that? Thanks for liking this one, actually I think I like it too, and that doesn't happen often with me. There is nothing means more to me than my faith, my family and my friends. Sharon, this is so very beautiful. And when Midnite sun rises, she will bring to me a part of you. Forgive me but one question ... ... What is the picture ... the artwork everyboday's talking about! Jaime feels his speech synthesizer but to no avail. Him monitor ... but still to no avail :-) |

This is truly, truly awe inspiring. My dear, sweet 87 year young mother-in-law has macular degeneration and is almost sightless, but she never complains and manages extremely well. Thank you for reminding us all to really 'see' what is around us. Hugs, Marti " My wrinkles are badges of courage and reveal that I am a Mother." |

Thank you for a beautiful reminder that seeing is not done only with the eyes. Stunning presentation, also. You are a wonderful poet! |

This is so beautiful and thoughtful, Sharon. I have known a couple of blind people and learned that many of them can actually see with their hands or their ears. Because their sense of sight isn't working, it seems like the other senses are heighteded to make up for it. Thanks for sharing it with us. ~ hugs for seeing it in your own way Lyra copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (05-30-2002 12:16 AM).] |

Jaime will send an email to you about the picture okay buddy? And pretty soon you are going to have the cutest little pair of eyes you know that right? Won't be long until she comes here on the way, and that is a poem in itself - she is excited about one room in my house - you have to ask her which one! LOL There is a young woman not sure how old three blocks from her with "Daisy" her guide dog and I swear she clips along faster and knows her way around sometimes better than I do. She knows every stop on the bus, and is truly amazing. I think like anything else, you don't miss what you don't have, and there should be more of that these days. Oh brohter! I shall climb off this soapbox right now Thanks everyone. |
