When the well dries, the quill is stiff and soft whispers no longer sigh When the mind is without a dream while the trembles turn to a cry. As the star’s gleam fades to darkness and the moon shines over the hill From the breeze slowing to silence and the leaves blowing ever still As tides ebb and quiet the flow and waves sleep under the shimmer When voices murmur one last sound and the dew dries from the mirror. When love once found becomes love lost or smiles of eyes comforting go And touches then become the air as two hearts now beat ever slow When the well of love is empty and the pen now shed of it’s ink Spoken words now but a memory on the edge of life’s jagged brink When then is not then but is now and the lessons learned are no more Two hearts will stride, keeping the beat in disregard of nevermore. |

Can I comment on my own poetry????? NO Comment!.... Seriously, I struggled with this poem... and I still am being somewhat critical of it in my own eyes... BUT, me thinks that is normal.... Go for it...say whatever you wish... and IF you like it...Thank You! |

Truly - it needs nothing else. It is extremely beautiful and conveys a painful truth in such a way as to make one feel soothed... how DO you do that? ...and her crown was formed by the ice in her eyes |

Yes Nancy, I think melancholy is a good word to describe the write...I was trying to let the feeling of loss without loss come into play....sort of a blah write...if you know what I mean... Hugs back... |

Icequeen....thank you...pleased that someone does enjoy this poem....though I am still not exactly happy with it...but poets are not always satisfied with their words...maybe that is why we are allowed to edit? Thank you for your warm reviews.... |

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Barry, this is so very sad, sweet friend, this is indeed so very sad and my heart goes out to many who face this loss and my heart goes out to them! (sigh) this is touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Oh Magnus..a classic..timeless piece of elegant blues.. I can feel your heart slow down and take a look at things..perhaps worry..but your pen could never disappoint.. Sincerely, Reg |
