Payback is so sweet can you stand the heat? Shall we have a duel and give fire more fuel? Dueling quill to quill, a matching of will, shall prompt a sweet smile we use truth or guile. Let the games begin! Let’s see who will win! Give it your best shot, a friendly war fought. So dip your pen, friend, Let not laughter end. Rules of the duel: All challenges must be answered in the EXACT format (i.e. if challenged via sonnet, you must answer via sonnet) and the challenges and responses must be made in this thread Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

Interloper my friend, You’ve taken up your pen, with a difficult task, so I now have to ask. I fear I can not do Exactly same as you, In meter and rhyme, I do not have time. So mostly I will keep, The syllables do creep Minor imperfection Barely of detection. It’s a humble attempt Just a few moments spent. Gloom Is this close enough? |

An interesting look Inside your book A challenge, met? A gamble, you bet. Don’t think for a moment A challenge won’t foment Stirrings of the mighty pen Ready? Set? Start again! Seems to me there are two Taking on this poet’s brew A challenge met? Well indeed Gloom & I shall succeed! Who next with their words No challenge left unheard! |

Bob darling boy I don’t know if this will do but I’ve given it a shot With steps that make no sound Mushy creeps o’er the ground Silent in the still of night Watch Interloper get a fright A duel you say my dear lord What’s it to be knives or sword? Will you take a pen or quill? Whichever dear boy suits your will On guard I toss in a line or two You riposte with a witty few Then I throw in a bit of rhyme You smile and you're out of time Is my beat really off my friend? Or have I a chance to amend? Drop your sword yield to me And I’ll let you live happily In my dreams I always win Shame I have to resort to sin Distraction is the reason you see I have the equipment naturally Marsha Love and warm stuff As always Mushy Breathe through the heat of our desire Thy coolness and they balm Let sense be dumb let flesh retire Speak through the eathquake wind and fire Oh [This message has been edited by Marsha (05-28-2002 10:49 PM).] |
