Making Fear Disappear

Is it harder to conquer
fear of the unknown
than fear of the known?
Musing these thoughts today,
my ponderings and I came away
with this bit of irony…
that embracing fear
makes it disappear.
Fear of the unknown
intrigues and challenges
imagination and curiosity
without frightening me,
while many things I see
in daily 3D reality
foster and fester fear,
and often challenge
my very sanity.
But I’ve learned to embrace fear,
not let it conquer my spirit.
For life itself teaches me…
that embracing fear
makes it disappear.

Hmmm...will have to ponder that awhile.  (Then I might steal it and tell Tracey I thought of it myself......lol)

Steal away, dear friend. The words were given to me by a stray moonbeam, I just wrote them down.

I love the message you have here in this poem, it seems a message I need to heed myself. Life is full of so many things to experience, to fear only holds one back from grasping those precious moments. Thanks for making me think.

I love the message in this poem, Kacy...

During this past terrible 9 months, I have been in fear's embrace too many times...and somehow, I just can't get it to go away and leave me alone.

Midnitesun darling girl this is utterly divine I love it, you always seem to be able to write the moment. This made me really think time is one thing we all have to grasp as we don’t get a second chance of this one moment. As that famous quote reminds us, the only thing we have to fear is fear itself

Simply fabulous, really well written, I really did enjoy this one

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

Miss T Eyed, thank you for you comment. It is a timely message.
Marsha, thank you, for your sweet reply, and the famous phrase.
Lyra, it was right after hearing someone repeat that famous phrase Marsha mentioned that this poem came to me, and I commented to my daughter there really are real things to fear, some greater than fear itself. And yet, to not be crippled by all these almost demands that you face them head on and accept them. That's what I hoped to convey. That's what you always convey, even through the fears that surround you daily, you always shine and show us strength and resolve.
Sy, thank you. The Memorial Day weekend this year could easily leave us focused on our fears. I simply chose a different focus.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kacy, I think we all seem to trip upon fear every now and then, I have a bad tendency to let fear overwhelm me sometimes because I have always been an optimistic person but when I was a boy, when I wished for things to go away, I continued to have nightmares and be abused and so I find myself now fearing what may be ahead, while I know what I must do! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Always hold your head up high, Noah, so you can see where you are going. Just remember to do that, and fear will run away from your show of strength.
