Seek not the light at the end of the tunnel
passing life here, in tornado’s funnel
No brave songs trip from this tongue
no incantations bring forever young

Bravery is not just a soldier’s right
but given to you as you suffer this fight
no medal placed upon weary breast
but satisfaction that you’ve done your best

The love reflected in your children’s eyes
is proof you lived and your heart survives
take each moment as it is and hold it dear
face each day with honor’s fear

Yes, do not wait for the light at the other end. It is already here, in front of you.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sharon, this is soooooo touching, sweet friend, I believe the love of a child is the most wonderful love of all and though I can't relate to it too well because I am growing up, I learn from others and to me it is a miracle! (sigh) This is so very touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This was written for another poet on another site. Her mother is dying of cancer and there is nothing further they can do - she is refusing chemotherapy. She doesn't have a great belief in God and doesn't want to hear the traditional 'have faith' words.

Sometimes...even the words of our children
are not enough when we are suffering and
feel there is no light at the end of our
tunnel...  A very difficult time for all
involved...  Prayers I send...

What a fantastic projection of verse.. Very powerful. I can see how her journey is now..and you have also honored her sincerely.

You have written a lovely poem for a 'no win'situation.  Joyce
