Sushi Social Club

We meet at Wasabe’s
the first Saturday afternoon
of every month,
promptly at one,
for the best sushi quickly ebbs
like schools of sardines
in some skinless eddy.

We feed in frenzy,
upon a boat dry docked on our table,
piled high with the sea,
sliced, rolled, raw and cooked comfort.

There is more than food to feast upon.

Tea and Saki are poured freely;
we are strident both in tears and laughter,
comparing our worlds -
seven seas gently colliding
in a swell of tides,
as we attempt to hold these faces
sailing past ours.

Corinne

There is a Sushi bar here in town, a place of peace in all ways..the food is wonderful, and the quiet sweetness of the owners and staff as well.  Thanks for reminding me...loved the fellowship in your poem.

When we arrive,
the boat is at the ready,
dry docked upon our table,
piled high with the sea,
sliced, rolled, raw and cooked.

Delicious, don't you just love it like that!!
