Beneath an azure Kansas sky,
Is where I'll be the day I die,
It matters not where I might go,
This simple fact of truth I know,
When my time comes and I'm called home,
I'll lay to rest in prairie loam,
For long ago my heart was stole,
Now Kansas winds call home my soul.

Ah Poet,

Kansa winds can calm the mind
or put to edge a nerve once fair
but nothing like a Kansas breeze
can happen to one from anywhere

it is a breeze that tinkles chimes
and brings the howl of wolf to moan
it is a hope eternal sprung
to turn windmills to water loam

I stand beside the day with you
'neath Kansa wind and sky
to greet the gold streaked heavens gift
and blend our grateful sighs.
