The sound of steps upon wood floor before the gate beyond the door A creak of oak in telltale squeak a whispered ssssssh of soft in speak Lay not thy head on cold of rail on track where train does ride the trail Sleep well into the clack of night rest in sleep naught fearful of fright A moon in howl does bring the glow of softest light on fallen snow Shadows flying with sparkles mix as wheel on rails clackety clicks Mulligan stew and Hobo’s sauce don’t need ta hurry, ain’t no boss Fires of black coal in embers glow warming a hand, thawing a toe. Hear the whistle echo through trees Feel the chill of train driven breeze Ride the rail across land of time Sittin’ and jokin', sharin’ rhyme. ride the rails and hear the tales the hobo's heart is lean no man's boss and every man's friend the hobo's heart is keen no dollar to give, but live, let live the hobo's life is full see the land, get to know the man disregard roots that pull... |

Magnus~ This is wonderfully told~ 'Sleep well into the clack of night' About every two hours throughout the night in my new home ... I can hear the train moving through~ I'm so glad they whistle~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Magnus darling man oh my dearest friend thank you muchly for this it is utterly utterly beautifully well written and perfectly presented poetry. The flow of line the excellent rhyme and the completeness of it is utterly utterly wonderful. I love it, as I said excellent absolutely perfect writing. A moon in howl does bring the glow of softest light on fallen snow Shadows flying with sparkles mix as wheel on rails clackety clicks Mulligan stew and Hobo’s sauce don’t need to hurry, ain’t no boss Fires of black coal in embers glow warming a hand, thawing a toe. This is utterly utterly perfect, so much written in these few words, so well you expose the feel of the railway. Absolutely wonderful writing you’ve taken so few words to express yourself here, and yet again carry within them some awesome imaging. Utterly utterly wonderful writing. Love and warm stuff As always Mushy Breathe through the heat of our desire |

WOW!!! Oh my gosh, this tale reminded me of Jack Kerouac and his escapades across the counry and along the train tracks, sweet friend, you have a true gift of narrating such fabulous tals to life from reality! in remembrance! (sigh) This is another magnificent keeper, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
