Thank You, Dear Poet

You made the hills come alive
with the music they have
always wanted to sing.

You have opened an orchid’s heart
so that I could hear the sweet
message of a flower.

You filled the woods with
the harmony of your words
so that they would enchant me
with their quiet voices.

You surrounded the lake with
notions of tranquility
so that I could find peace
by the gentle waters.

You filled the sunset with colors of my dreams.
You turned the night sky into poetry,
The dawn into yearning
And love became the
Pinnacle of my heart’s endeavor
And faith, the sublimity
of my soul‘s desire.

And yet, in all of these
you left spaces of enchantment
to be filled by other poets,
seats of comfort upon which
unconsidered notions
will some day sit.

You left an empty page
for another to continue the
rhapsody of your beauteous verse.

Thank you, dear poet,
for etching your words into my life
and for giving such pleasure
to my eye, that it will
continue to see the grace
of your thoughts through every
spectrum of joy that lays
in the pathway before me.

Dear Liz.

You’ve found the friendship we all seek
With words you need to say
Some hope to stop the tearing fears
That ache the heart each day

We read your words of thought and life
To give our thoughts reply
Some time we steal so words can heal
As time and thoughts go by

Enjoyed the read once again.

Sincerely Rick

Liz

A beautiful and gracious poem, just like the poet who wrote it.
