Ahhh, that was just so darn cute. I bet you could sweet talk any policeman into taking you to a mall, I know if I wanted to get there bad enough I would! You look rather cute behind the wheel of that car, Mrs. Chipmunk but maybe you should get yourself a for these moments where you can't see to drive? Just a safety thought. Lyra! So good to see you having some fun and feeling a bit better! I think it's now time for the Little Old Lady from Pasadena to get inside the car with you ... who knows where THAT sort of collaboration could lead! |

(giggles in delight) Awwwwwwww, this is sooooooo cute, sweet friend, chipmunks never mean any harm to cops (unless they steal Clusters cereal) LOL! (kiss on cheek) This is adorable, sweet friend, you always make me smile, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Thanks so much, Sue...this was inspired by Balladeer's poem about my driving with poor eyesight. I just went to the eye doctor last week and found out that I was both nearsighted AND farsighted....and they don't cancel each other out! My eyes are just getting old! Can you imagine a chipmunk wearing glasses...well, I guess there is one and her picture is right next to this poem....but even worse, a chipmunk driving a car! ~ chipmunk hugs Lyra |

Ha Ha Ha, Sharon....a chipmunk on a motorcycle.... a chipmunk with poor eyesight on a motorcycle.....FOR SAFETY reasons!!!!!!! Thanks for your help and for your cute reply. The secret is....I had to buy lunch for that cop....I'm glad he was a vegetarian, at least that made me feel safer! But the people at the optician's really got a kick out of it! ~ superchipmunk hugs Lyra |

Thanks Karilea...from the little old chipmunk from Pasadena! When I bought my black Mazda 626, I really wanted a Miata...but I didn't buy it because it has no back seat and I have grandkids. but my kids were teasing me and calling me "the little old lady from Pasadena" and telling me how cops always pull little red sports cars over. I was even thinking of getting a license plate which read "Go Granny", but it had too many letters...and would have to read Go Grnny, so now I have one which reads CHIPMNK. ~granny hugs Lyra |

Thanks Noah...I think its the squirrels who steal the Clusters cereal...but I can imagine a hungry chipmunk doing it also. I know that chipmunks have been known to get into people's houses. A friend of mine's cat broought one home and it ended up in her dryer....poor thing! ~ Clusters of hugs Lyra |

Thanks so much, Nancy...I'm glad you enjoyed the little poem...it was an answer to the one Balladeer wrote yesterday...which was much better and much longer..... No one can compete with the great Balladeer! I'm flattered that he wrote a poem about me. Sharon (Mysteria) helped me with the pic. ~ vision impaired chipmunk hugs : Lyra |

Thanks so much, Marge...I'm so glad you enjoyed it. This chipmunk is really looking forward to getting those new glasses so she can read the street signs again...otherwise, she will keep getting lost in the woods. ~ lost chipmunk hugs Lyra |

See how that Balladeer can take an innocent traffic incident and just run with it!! Thanks for the laugh, Lyra! (That pic is hilarious) but I'm lonely now, and I don't know how |

Thanks so much, Michael for the reply and for your wonderful poem in which you immortalized me. May God bless and keep you.....far away from whatever roads I.m driving on!!! and also...thanks for the blessing. If I manage to go to Florida in September, I will make sure that I will find out where you are going to drive, and I will drive on the same street at the same time..... but... I will have my new glasses by then.... I am also an excellent driver, I have no had no traffic tickets for the past 6 yrs except for the accident I had because my front driver's side tire blew out causing me to swerve into the oncoming lane and hit my neighbor....but that wasn't my fault. ~ driving rodent hugs Lyra |

Thanks so much, Sherry... Maybe I should get a motorcycle.... A nearsighted chipmunk driving a motorcycle might even be funnier than a nearsighted chipmunk driving a car... ~ nearsighted rodent hugs Lyra |

Strange how the mind works, as I was at the mall yesterday and this poem came to mind for some reason, and I started laughing out loud. I am sure most people thought I was crazy, but had to thank Sharon/Lyra for the memory and smile. |

I've thought about this poem often and the smiles it gave to her and my poem that caused her to write it. Meeting her and hearing her laugh about it shortly before her death made it one of the most self-satisfying poems I'd ever written and it will always be special to me....thanks, Sharon |
