Wealth I tired of his bragging of it He drove a Jag Lived in a house whose value was separated by a pair of comma's and wore the clothes of a ragman We shared some sunsets together never admitting the bond, but submitting to it While some men run from their dreams afraid of failing he realized his and feared he had none left to dream I gleamed in the opulence of his wealth in a shining second I felt what I thought was riches beyond riches and then we walked into his library "Here is where I travel, my friend. Here is where my soul sings, my eyes breath." "I wish to share my wealth with you" he said and handed me a book |

Wow! This gave me shivers...so much of me is between the covers of so many books I learned from. This touched me in that special place, the library smell...the late nights with low light and my first love, reading. Thank you! |

(big huggssssssss) Oh Jeff, this is wonderful, sweet friend, I too felt I was standing in a library in the early afternoon and being greeted by the librarian and realizing by his wisdom that my heart is bookmarked within the pages of many books! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Jeff Hi there my friend I feel as I know you, your hand and heart have reached out and touched me many many times. Your writing is incredibly beautiful carrying within it an indefinable quality that shows the worth of the man. We all have our favourite writers, Mum and Emma both have you in their top five, and I have you in my top two. Your writing is incredibly descriptive and well presented. YOU are one of the stars that light the heavens. This is superb writing, and it will stay with me I’m keeping this abundant treasured piece. Mum isn’t very well today, but I know if she were she would be replying to this beauty, you are a terrific writer Give my love to Dulcie and Batman Love and warm stuff As always Krissy And while thy willing soul transpiers |

Hi Martie ol' bud! Gosh, you and i have some similar memories. When i was was in 3rd thru 7th grade, we lived on a farm, and i remembered the quiet nights when i would dive under the blankets, Jules Verne, HgWells, Mark Twain at my fingertips, and let them take me where they would. Those are priceless times, Martie. *grin* and, did you know, i wrote this piece with the sole purpose of paying some homage to those moments, and to the infinite wealth that a lover of books has. ThisDiamond, aw gee shucks! heehee Books have given me everything that my mind could take. Still, to this day, i buy from 2-6 books a week, devour them, keep many for reference and remembering. Thank you both, and never stop the flow of words from gracing your eyes. tSR |

Hey Noah! How's things in your neck of da woods, ami? I love what you wrote: so poetic and right on the money. Martie summed up my feelings well, too. There is a sense of excitement i STILL get, just walking into the library. It never fails to tantilize. Awww Nance, that is so very kind of you. There seems to be a message in most all of my poems, but i DO hope it doesnt border on preaching. That would be soooooooooooooooooo boring, huh. But love those O'Henry endings to a good poem, tho. Forgive me for my absences. It's that time of year when i am not home much. But i have over 400 poems i have written but never posted. Can you believe that? Sheesh....what to do with all of them. Thankx Y'all, and have a wonderful day! jeff |

Krissy!!!!!!!!! There you is! Dang, i am sorry your mum is feeling small. Give her my best regards, will you? I feel i know you, also, Kriss, and will probably send you and your mom some pics of Florida since you are going at the end of summer. Tell you what: look for a special poem, in your honor, in the next few days. Your encouragement and good wishes are one of the prime reasons i am here, at Passions. Thank you for them, Krissy, and your sweet friendship. Magnus: love that acronym! Verrrrrrry cool. Many many times i have that feeling when i read something that triggers a same emotion in me. It DOES feel, at times, like we could have written, word for word, something we read, doesn't it? *smiles* You are both very kindhearted and generous. Wishing you a great holiday weekend jeff |
