A Single Breath Exposed Me

It appeared life was at an equal balance
Was able to call on the sun when the clouds laid lower
I could take the dreary, though weary, and stand below it
Knowing rays of patience would purge and take over...

Stored for safe keeping for that right moment
I was like an aged bottle that time tenderly touched
Then a few years, real life revealed, my second chosen
A single breath exposed me when no longer covered in dust...

Nothing to hide me now from raging visions that flow
And, sacred doesn't even own a pair of wings on it's back
A single breath exposed me to what remained hidden
And, that slight hesitation resides in any will to laugh...

Just surrounded by echo's of bad fortune and head on into fate
A heart's impression imbedded in pillows red tear stained
For, serenity doesn't knock on this door of sadness at all
And, a single breath exposed me the instant I acknowledged pain...

Unfamiliar surely occupies the very heart of the heart
Runs deeper then any valley between two rising hills
Maze like features keeps a continual dead end to go back
A single breath exposed me when I stopped believing in good will...

Anguish and no certainty rest in the arms of the exposed
With not even the assurance of which way I should go
A single breath exposed me when the world bowed down to a breeze
And, all dust that sheltered gave way when it gained it's speed...
