Sometimes, I wonder, If I should even keep trying To write any poetry at all No matter what I try to do It doesn't turn out to be As good as all of yours Never have I been one Who could read instructions And get it right the first time Sometimes I have to try it More than just once or twice Before I might just get it right There are times I feel like Just giving up and not trying Feeling like it's just no use By Sue 5-22-01 |

Sue, i understand where you are coming from...in fact, i feel that way almost every other month... i keep trying to write because i just want to express how i feel at a particular point in time..No matter how bad it is, it's still mine, something that i alone have experienced and is uniquely mine... And just because things have been written about before - and you agree with what was written - doesn't mean you can't write about it too and maybe even better than the previous author. There is always a new way to say old things- from your perspective which is different from anyone else's so write it. keep trying!  |

No way! Every poem is important in its own li'l way. Just keep writin' an' readin' and evolvin'. If y' need any more proof of how time helps yr words along -- go back t' my posts two years ago.  She said burn ... together. |
