I'm sure the rambling will end one of these days... Plunder the Sun ©2002 C.G. Ward it’s been a lifetime since I used hyperbole to excuse my absence from the reality of your dreams. like standing at that cliff where something caught your eye while I looked down on a vertical slice of life as it waterfell away into the waves of a man-made lake. too bad we couldn’t dive its depths like we did each other. instead, like Icarus, we attempted to flee ourselves, chasing dreams of immortality… if only in the legends of our minds. could we plunder the sun for a warmth our hearts would never find? no, we flew too high, too far, while the heat of failed aspirations melted resolve from our ankles. plummeting. falling, until we landed up-side-down on the tip of a volcano ready to erupt the first time our tectonics shifted too close to grating against the standard of our living. it’s been a lifetime since I used hyperbole to excuse your absence from the reality of my dreams. Christ. I love this. Very different from your usual writes... clear, patterned, and… not flowing… but continual: a curling ribbon instead of a river... only one complaint: "like standing at that cliff where you got something in your eye" ~shaking head~ doesn't work... plunder the sun... ~sigh~ I envy your mind sometimes... what it sees, creates... ~smallsmile~ but only sometimes... Well...I could read your ramblings for a lifetime~grin* but on a serious note, sooo many ways to take this..can I please take this as in "7 inches from the midday sun" Santana very hot stuff (can't help myself)...sometimes..we just can't all be Daedalus..and make it. But it was good for what it was worth?..Make sense? Great vineage. Reg [This message has been edited by rwood (05-21-2002 07:32 PM).] |

Chris, who are you trying to kid? superb imagery...this must sound so trivial to you but the conversion of the noun "waterfall" to the verb "waterfell" was what caught my eye and delighted me best... |

Chris The mind is such an intricate thing...mixed with the ability that you have of building words with it..you take interesting and honest looks inside yourself and into feelings, which I enjoy. Wheew...that was long winded of me. Hope you know I liked this. |

Lauren - thanks you. imagery is good, right? Kari - Yes'm. I'll keep on 'til then. faterider - kid? myself most likely, as self-delusion is highly underrated in my op. and comments like that never sound trivial, i was pretty happy with that one as well! thank you Tier - hugs you, but i'm guessing if i'm in there, you're collection's not all that discerning! bsquirrel - thank you for reading and replying Martie - always happy to hear your thoughts and comments... wind away! i sincerely appreciate your appreciation of my introspectiveness. K - *tap-taptap* waiiiiting. |

"And now it's time for me to go, The autumn moon lights my way. But now I smell the rain, And with it pain, And it's headed my way. Ah, sometimes I grow so tired, But I know one thing I got to do..." Ramble On--Led Zeppelin And now, C, the question is...can ya keep 'em coming? |

it’s been a lifetime since I used hyperbole to excuse your absence from the reality of my dreams. I've been reading this for a couple days. Still not sure what I wanna say, except that the way you use words is very cool. You do things with the thought or meaning of them, that I'd never think to do (at least, not sober...lol). And your continued 'rambling' is really tempting me to throw brevity away for a moment or two. We'll see. |

Gemini - thank you for your visit and your acceptance. Duncan - i would LOVE to see you ditch the brevity here and there... what you do already rocks... and i would love to see what goes on in that cranium full-bore. peace, and thank you.
