What days are these
  That make memories
    Swell up as flotsam
      At hightide

I look out, see
  Places, faces that
    Might have been me
Had I taken a different turn

Or signed on
  Another steamer
    Carries me along
      Groove of acceptable familiarity

Now somewhere in a backwater
  I find so little
    Motion about me
Strangers speak odd man I hear

Nothing new as I weep
Not with my eyes of course
Those ponds were drained long ago
Hearts blood inhumanity man so binding

But the tracks on my gray matter
  Often fill with saltwater
    Overflowing down ravaged spine
Pain of man throughout body human

This world history tragic ignorance
  Ranting wanton intolerance
    Solipsism mankind be thy host
Parasite devouring defined as merely noun

You out there, do you ever feel
The rest of you out there, each
Or does fear so completely bind
And blind you, I've lost you completely

People often remark to me
After reading a passage or two
Too often all about them exclaim
What the Hell does all this mean

Precisely
   I reply

To borrow a word from BSQ above, Welcome, Awesome Poet, to Passions!  Please, check your E-mail for a Special Greeting!

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Whoa!  There's true talent in those words.  And beautifully placed for eyes to admire.  Welcome, fellow newbie!
