As I write upon these pages in the flow of poetry’s sages I shall take to heart the visages as my pen does write in strike. For the ink of well is boiling into the fine lines flowing and the wisdom is musing thoughts of this poetry I like. Alas, but in the moment sent of this fleeting flight in repent comes forth in seek of reprieve of things so flightily nigh For this bird of black is taken to a vision more than makin’ as I contemplate then tasting a piece of black bird raven’s pie. T’is the instance when awoken does the thought of bird be bakin’ spurs the hurry to cook of this, this last bird of one’s evermore Those eyes of black do plead me and cry in hopes of free be for the dining quest is strong as the heart of one’s dear Lenore But for the haunting plea of thought of this the beggar once sought my heart thence strong now is soft as I let his raven fly While in repose of the naught of what was once to be wrought a tear of face swells and streaks from eye of the bird and I Nevermore quoth the poet, Nevermore.... Krissy, I am sure that it is difficult getting your Mum to let you on the keyboard... My heart goes out to you....I know that must be trying at times... Thanx bunches... Michael....when I start seeing you write ballads about Nevermore.....well, then I will consider never more.... Thanx... B. OH....Deer OLD Buddy....here, this is for U!!! The ‘Deer was simply boilin’ from words of my toilin’ as the poet wrote the lore of a raven evermore Time after time he saw the wall, words of gold in Raven’s call Time after time, he pleaded of me, please...Stop for ever more!! Well, I cannot say I will, and I will not say I won’t But if you ask me nice, I might concede and don’t And if you will just sit and listen to just a few more I promise you I’ll cease, my search for dear Lenore. For this Lenore is quite a treat, you ought to see her face She surely is sexy and so neat, the lines you’d wanta trace. But if you insist that I stop and shut the poetic door. I guess I will, but you will miss, this sexy Ms. Lenore!! [This message has been edited by Magnus (05-18-2002 08:03 PM).] |

Barry...what is the difference between a raven and a crow? I've had had a crow wake me at 5AM for three weeks in a row. Could I capture such a stew...and sleep the whole night through?? Loved this poem, Mr. Barry poet! |

Barry...how could you not know the difference between a raven and a crow? A crow is the bird about which you wrote this wonderful poem! Actually, a raven is a bigger, uglier crow! ~raven hugs Lyra |

LOL, this one positively flew down the page. I can assure you, there is a huge difference between crows and ravens. Where it would take 4 and 20 crows or blackbirds for your pie, it might only take 4 ravens. Ravens are enormous! Enjoyed the poem. |

You have the bards looking in, nodding...and in today's vernacular, saying "Way to go, Man!" |

Sorry Magnus, Very sorry. Very, very sorry. Please fogive me for I know not what I do. When I'm done with all the toilin' and the water's nearly boilin' He calls for raven pie for evermore So I'm sittin' in the kitchen with the cauldron bubbling hitchin' My resources striving to the fore Then he shouts in voice of rasping as he takes me to my tasking Get the lead out, raven pie, Lenore I'm hopin' and I'm cravin' that he will get that raven And place it in the pot as stew and more But in comes downstairs a weeping with no bird within his keeping And cries I let him go, my sweet Lenore See I gave thought to the raven the pie of which I'm cravin Was crow, so let it go, now nevermore Will I eat the pie of ravin' and hunger pangs I'm staving I can't eat crow of this you can be sure Now I'm sittin in the kitchen, with a pot that's made for witchin' And the water boilin' steaming up the door While my master sits here crying, I suppose that I am sighin' As I pour the water out to wash the floor As you move your feet in wonder and I splash the water under I hear you say, no pie no nevermore. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
