Oh give me a home
that's locked safe and warm
where the drool of insanity stays
where the cry of the lark
through the bars in the dark
keep me docile, sedated all day

Home, home of deranged
Where completely insane people play
Where seldom is heard a sensible word
and the drugs keep us happy all day

oh give me a space
where I know of my place
for the nurses are happy or gay
where the doctors are fools
but they make all the rules
and the inmates are watching to prey

Home, home of deranged
Where completely insane people play
Where seldom is heard a sensible word
and the drugs keep us happy all day

oh give me a room
where the fuzzyhairs bloom
and the long sleeve approach makes us stay
where the food is so dread
that we wish we were dead
and the manics, depressives do play

Home, home of deranged
Where completely insane people play
Where seldom is heard a sensible word
and the drugs keep us happy all day

oh give me some bars
so I see rushing cars
and I know that the world will await
as  I sleep and I eat
pick the skin from my feet
I am happy, content with my fate

Home, home of deranged
Where completely insane people play
Where seldom is heard a sensible word
and the drugs keep us happy all day

Home, home of deranged
Where completely insane people play
Where seldom is heard a sensible word
and the drugs keep us happy all day

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Keth darling sister of heart and the one who drifts among stars to harvest their light. You know I utterly utterly utterly adore this one, you do parodies so well, actually there’s isn’t anything that you don’t do well. It matters not whether it’s rhymed, metered, free verse, haiku, senryu and etceteras until I come to the end of time.

This is simply perfect as always darling and I love it I love it utterly. One day darling heart you may write something that doesn’t make me dizzy with delight, but I doubt it, your writing is always wonderful. While I have breath I will alwasys read your words and adore them.

Love and warm stuff

deranged indeed. . . there's a quality here that I can't seem to put my finger on Kethry. . . perhaps I'll find it. . .

Keth...this is really really good...
a parody on "Home On the Range"...one of the songs I remember from my youth...

Somehow I think it was associated with cowboys though...not mental institutions.

Great job

Keth, the bad news is: Toe won't be at home. *G*

I like this very much... It would have been a marvelous theme song for the 'stute... but there's no escaping the underlying sadness. *S* Well written!!
