A knock upon the door of fright
as darkness brings the wane of light
The sound of scratch upon the screen
In Nevermore of Raven’s sheen

The door is locked, the bolt is set
now a tizzy, a scream in fret
Where is the bird of feather black
a screech and crack, now at the back

A scratchy whisper of chill in wind
as Raven’s voice does quickly send
the steps of three upon the stair
in fright of night and raise of hair

The chain now falls from of the latch
as creak does moan of hinge in ratch
when whispers fall of Nevermore
beyond the light below the door.

Two clawed feet and black coal of eye
utter sound of shrill raven’s cry
when from the dream of dark awake
the oven set for Raven’s bake!!!!

It gave me chills, I like the Poe allusion. Well written.

Lauren~

I would rather have one breath of his hair,
one kiss of his mouth,
one touch of his hand
than an eternity without it.

Magnus darling boy  now this is utterly utterly excellent. How creepy and spooky it was and I loved the end it brought a delicious smile. You know I love this, its flow is perfect and the smile it gives are far far better than anything, because it’s so unexpected. YOU darling heart always write well.

Why is it do you think that you can so easily call up hearts tears, hearts smiles, and souls sighs? I wonder what magic you have in your pen that lets you write with delight so often. Well, whatever the magic you have, you have it in abundance

Utterly utterly wonderful

(sigh) Wow, I just love how you used Edgar Allan Poe and made almost some parody of it in this hauntiung sequel-poem, sweet friend, the end reminded me of that saying "Looks like my goose is cooked!", like now the taunting of the raven has refrained into silence and now the curse has been broken! (big hugggsssss) This is powerful, sweet friedn, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I enjoyed this very much, Magnus. *S* There were POEtry induced chills snaking up my spine until the last verse sent them away on wings of laughter. *G*
