Poetry

Woven of words
stitches of syntax
flowery with meaning
overflowing with pain and pride and love
feelings boldly displayed
in pretty printed language
graceful lyrics of the heart
tempered by the mind
and penned softly
with the melody of the soul
roll gently off my quill
onto the colorful canvas
of my life

this is poetry

Thanks so much, Karilea...I'm glad that you made me the winner.  Interestingly, I wasn't even aware that there was a contest between Mr.Toe and myself....but its always nice to win something....especially when its so unexpected.

Yes it is!  I love the line "stitches of syntax" what a cool, perfect phrase!  Take a bow now, poet!

This is a keeper

the interesting thing about this poem, is that I think I wrote it faster than any other poem I've ever written.
The words just wrote themselves into my brain.

But see, Lyra, if y' keep bouncing yr quill into the ink over an' over again, how y' gonna write? By the way, thanks for resuscitating me after the storm poem. That cat almost got me.

Thanks Mr.Squirrel (I noticed thats how you signed your name this time)

You are absolutely right...if I keep dipping that quill, I won't be able to write because I'll run out of ink...because I'll probably splash that ink all over myself and then I'll be an inky chipmunk....ewwww!

Whew! thank goodness the cat didn't get you last night...that might have been a pretty bad scene.
That poor cat...I think he might have died of squirrel poisoning.
