A Poet I Am

A poet I am,
At least that’s what I’m told
But dare I love a poet
Could I truly be so bold

To embrace in love’s sweet fire
And fold with you in flame
Again to glimpse the truth in broken light
A vision lost within the game

Frail Hearts hold fast in fading hope
Precarious in suspend, line after line
As the endless subtleties abound
Scribbled in blue, hidden in the rhyme

Is this just another distant fantasy
Waiting in love, never to be revealed
Leaving us once more to speculate
What it is we really feel

Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets.  ~Arthur Miller

Well now, isn't this something to think about! I was reading Nora Roberts today,
and she wrote something to the effect that only poets dream in color, after all her heroine was a grown woman!

Your poem triggered that thought again,
and I liked it very much!

Eddie darling boy, I’m completely awed by this delight. Oh how you write, and how much I love it when you do so. Phrases as elegant as only you know how to present them, flow like a clear stream of liquid light, words placed with the delicacy of a master confectioner places his sugared violets. This is utterly utterly divine. Purely magical darling boy, utter bliss

You have perfectly said what it is to be
a poet....So often,  we read or write and
the interpretation can be totally different
between different readers...

Such is the mystery of poets and poetry..

Thanx for this one...very well said..

(ya knew I wasnt gonna let that go by)
Eddie ... this is a wonderful write...I love the poet loving a poet theme...and the lovely phrasing you wrapped the emotions up in. As for should a poet dare love a poet?
How can ya not?????
( think of it this way... not much chance of running out of things to say)
Love your new signature too!!

Eddie, how on earth can one poet not love another poet?
*this one left me smiling*   *and thinking*
But then again, you would be reading things
into each others words not necessarily there..
Also, that could happen with anyone, right?
Oh..I am starting to ramble...I'll be off then...
This is very very good....
I too love the new sig line!

(big hugggssssss) Oh Eddie, I believe with all my heart a poet can always love another poet, for I love one poet so much who I dream of having forever close to my heart, Joanna, who always cheers me up when she's around and I'm feeling sad! (smiles) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eddie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Hello Eddie

You were so 'spot on' with all you said and how well I could relate.  Your words were definitely food for thought and contained many truths.

Take care......Sue

Aint that the truth...sometimes you get lost in the words and forget...words are a way of life to a poet...so is it real? Or is it just another poem?

I thank you all for your time and your thoughts, both are much appreciated! It’s heartening to know you enjoyed and that you found something in the words to make you think.
