Becoming a Mother

Not every pain means suffering
Not every wound, a curse
For through my pain I gained
The richest treasure on the earth

One day I cried in misery
But in my deep unrest
A tiny child was laid across
The softness of my breast

He brought a newness to my soul
I felt the power of
The bonds the two of us had shared
In living purest love

Fulfillment, purpose, beauty
Lay before me small and clean
A different kind of love took hold
And altered every dream

The very sweetest love is born
Innately with a child
The mother’s learned to cherish
And the baby to beguile

The splendors of a birth came clear
The joy was like no other
The purpose of my life appeared
When I became a mother

This was right from inside your heart I felt it!  Liz, I share with you this special feeing, as there is no other that can ever compare to it, but it takes a wonderful Mother to feel it, and when I met you - I met a wonderful Mother!  Happy Mother's Day dear friend.

We should spend less time worrying about when our life is going to end and more on when it's going to start!

This is so beautiful, Elizabeth... I wish every child ever born could know this kind of love. *S*

ROFL @ Toerag... You've probably been called a mother a few times, too! LOL
