Its Time

I had originally written this for my 3000 post, which I thought would be about a month ago, and then the side effects of the radiation treatments hit me real hard, so I was barely able to use my computer at all.When I read this poem again...I realized how much more appropriate it is now than it would have been before I went through the tough part of the radiation, so maybe its good that I had to wait until now to post it.

When nightmares haunt your sleep
and through your waking moments, seep
and the worlds' a daunting place
its time to show your grace

when your view turns upside down
and you're standing on your crown
and your life is fraught with fright
its time to gather your wits and fight

when your life is burdened with pain
and the sun is hidden by clouds and rain
and everything is tinged with sad
its time to bury the spirits of bad

its time to let your warrior out
its time for your inner self to shout
its time to be strong and survive
its time for your hope to revive
its time
its time
its time

Congratulations on your 3,000th post Lyra, but more importantly congratulations on being a real warrior, and a fighter. I think this poem is so indicative of your inner tenacity and spirit, which I respect immensely. Great poem from a great lady!

We should spend less time on worrying when our life is going to end and more on when it's going to start!

There IS a cadence of hope and life about this piece and it IS timely that you post it as you go through some adversity...with a spirit like yours that is ever shining, it tells the rest of us...wake up folks! You ain't seen nuttin', yet!

Thanks Karilea...for the reply, as well as the vote of confidence. I finally got my hair cut short again and colored it back to it's natural color, now I feel like myself again and now I look just like my photo again.

Thanks so much, Sy...but its not over yet...I still haven't had the CT scan, but I do feel in my heart that the tumor is all gone. Of course, it might have spread somewhere else...but I feel so good that I can't imagine that it did.

Thanks so much Lauren...I am glad that this makes you feel peace. It gives me peace of mind right now, but I'm still nervous that some of it could have been left there and it might spread...I will have a CT scan in a couple of weeks to find out.
