Retail Therapy

When I'm feeling out of sorts
shopping is my favorite sport
there's no competition
for this kind of mission
it needs no practice, no discipline
and this is a game I always win

there's something about a retail store
clothes and furniture galore
its amazing how a shopping spree
always restores my sanity
shoppers always in a hurry
little kids who run and scurry

to lift my mood, its not that hard
as long as I have my credit card
the damage, I need not confront
till I get the bill at the end of the month
it may cost money, but theres a sweet little twist
it costs much less than a therapist

WOW! A girl after my own heart.  Give me a shopping mall and I have died and gone to heaven, ask anyone!   Oh how true, it sure beats therapy doesn't it?  LOL   Loved it Laura.

We should spend less time on worrying when our life is going to end and more on when it's going to start!

(giggles in delight) Oh my gosh, I know just how you feel, though I am not a huge shopper, I do love to hang around the Hispanic markets a lot and just love walking around their groxery store for hours listening to music and trying free samples of canteloupe and pineapple with picante sauce! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Lyra

I always enjoy the way you look at life...I haven't been shopping for some time.  I move furniture to give myself a lift.

Lyra - you are so right. I enjoyed this. For me, it is a bookstore...the smell of the new books...the calm atmosphere.....then again..a wild romp through Kmart isn't too bad either!!! lol. hugs, Chris

Sharon...thanks for your reply.
You and I should go shopping together sometime.  I bet we could empty a whole store.
My sister and I actually did that to the petite dept. at Lord & Taylor in Scarsdale, NY, a couple of years ago.
We had both lost a lot of weight and felt that we owed it to ourselves.
We were trying on clothes in a fitting room and chatting about everything, when someone knocked on the wall and asked "are there 2 or you in there, or are you talking to yourself?"
We have the exact same voice, so she thought it might be one person talking to themselves...Its really wierd, but we sound EXACTLY the same and we both LOVE  to shop, so if you'd like to join us sometime, you would be welcome to...as long as our voice doesn't get on your nerves.

Thanks so much, Noah...I understand that completely.  Most guys don't like to shop.
David says he likes to, but he can't keep up with me when I really do some powershopping!

Thanks Nancy...It doesn't have to rain to get me to the mall.  I think that malls don't have windows because once you're in there, you forget about the outside world anyway...

Thanks Martie...If you move that furniture around well enough, you will have a whole new room and you might as well have gone shopping, but you would have missed the joy of the singing cash register.

Thanks so much, Sue...I am feeling better for now, but I'm still very tired...and of course, I really don't know for sure that the cancer is gone...I just feel in my heart that it is...my intuition is telling me so, but I'll find out within the month and then if it isn't I don't know what comes next.

I have a question for you.....
You say that Balladeer shops at Victoria's Secret...does he shop there for himself or for someone else?
