Home Within my Head I remember a time in sand foot bare hot clothed skin to toe dig found the cool Somehow my youth knew there were places barely needing me to move at all to travel far When a mother’s skirt held no comfort the scratch trunk tree my horse could run dirt hoof beats to prairie that cast line away from fear I travel still across the away or into amazed to breathe where purple tints the eyes of sky It is a perception gathered from the crib where I could not make choice for in the house that stole so much of me I found a home within my head |

'They' can take just about anything from us that they want... But our thoughts remain our own forever... Beautiful, dear Martie... |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Martie, I know just how you feel, when I was a little boy my dad would never even bother to help me when I was abused and he would tell me to be quiet and go away, so I felt so insecure at home and I dreamed all day, which was the only way I can try and find peace in myself! (kiss on cheek) This is powerfully bittersweet, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! I 'know' it~ Relating .... with *hugs* Love you gal~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

"for in the house that stole so much of me I found a home within my head" I love the mind, God did create a beautiful man, if only we could learn how to use it more, and for more good. This was wonderful Martie, floria Floria |

Somehow my youth knew there were places barely needing me to move at all to travel far And with these words, forty years melted away... yesterdays flitting across my mind make me glad for the home within my head... if for no other reason than that it gave me a today when I can read your words. That may not make sense... it's convoluted even for me. *S* But WOW, Martie... your words have such impact I almost fail to appreciate their perfection. *S* |

Martie, you found a way to articulate only too well what is the best or the Greatest Escape: the imagination, and all that can be it is there, i think, you will find me also! Some poems have near-perfection that shout with hushed clarity by words alone... jeff ~impressed smile~ |
