I went for a walk today and felt the suns warmth of spring.
My eyes focused in on the last old krinkled oak leaf.
Still hanging on the tree from last fall.
It weathered through a winters season.
And clung desperately in the wind.
Don't you know it's not your time to hang on any longer, I wondered?
It's time to let go and allow the new leaves of spring to unfold.
Life is like that.
How desperate I want to hold on to the dream of a lost love.
Holding on and not letting go.
Never allowing room in my heart to grow.
Love is like that.
It's time to let go.
Time to live and grow.
So, let the last leaf of fall be taken by the blowing wind.
Free to return to the earth again.
Let it nurture the tree anew.
Let lifes' heart renew through spring again.

Gemini - I'm going to move this on over to Open Poetry, as it is a poem, I think, and will recieve the attention it deserves there.

Gemini,
what a lovely picture of holding on against all odds.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
