~* Lattice of Lilacs *~

Lattice of lilacs
Wafting perfume in the breeze
Pink and white tulips
The gardener cuts with such pride
Anticipating his rose.

The lilacs are in bloom everywhere in Vancouver and the smell is absolutely fabulous. They're my favorite flower, and they sure do not last long enough for me!

Such a pretty tanka, Sharon.  You always make everything more wonderful than it already is!

Take care,

Hi Mysteria!

Just got my flowers planted today and it was wonderful to see your poem and think about flowers blooming everywhere.  I enjoy the beauty in your writing.  It reflects your spirit!

Noah ~ I knew I missed something when I was away, it was your unbelieveable responses, thank you.

Victoria ~ Magnolia's are absolutely fantastic, and I have one inside that blooms once a year, and only for a few days, but it is worth it.  Thanks for the read.

Poet deVine ~ They calm down Peptopink Thank you Sharon.
Melissa ~ You are so sweet, but how can I make Nature any better than it already is, such a gift it is.

SmittenKitten ~ Did you know the white ones have a more pungent smell?  I love all shades together and have them all over the place right now, ummmmm, love them too!

Shenachie ~ You have a wonderful soul yourself and it totally is reflected in your wonderful writing (anything coming?) Thank you very much.

Ah...this is good.  This was not a fine year for lilacs in Kansas...I shall stick around awhile and wait for a good year, and send you some wowzers...in the meantime...send me a bouquet, yes?

Now you did it. I'm missing that scent, as I had lilacs in California years ago. A lovely poem, Sharon. Do you save and dry any blossoms? I don't remember saving lilacs, but always saved some lavendar sticks. My nose is itching right now, for French lavendar, wysteria, honeysuckle, night blooming jasmine, and wild California sage. Thanks for the twitchy nose!

Glad you all liked this little one.  I didn't know you can "dry" lilacs.  I dry everything else, but never thought about it - so will try to do just that, thanks!
