What sleepless serendipity brings me here,
Curled fetal,
Embracing Hot metals ceaseless flow,
To risk a solitary toe, dipped ginger in familiarity,
Once more seduced, by lost literary lights,
Your harbor called me back,
Whispered my own desire to shine,
But ignorant am I and high seas beckoned,
'Til emptiness became the progress of the rake,
To make a mark, if briefly on this page,
To rest once more within this sheltered cove,
This haven from inhumanity,
Where I can lick my wounds and softly weep.
