(It's not my fault! That RAZ got me thinking about sonnets and I spent all day driving around writing them on McDonald napkins!)

Come sit, my love. Let's share a glass of wine,
A burgundy, perhaps a nice Merlot.
I envy glass that touches lips of thine
Much sweeter than a grape shall ever know.

Then slice the cheese. My wafer here awaits.
A Roquefort or Mimolette will do.
Though Brie's a taste my mouth anticipates,
At other times, I find I'm feeling bleu.

Then we shall sip and taste throughout the night
And giggle with delight as lovers do.
I'll kiss thy lips as you consume each bite
And make you mine before the evening's through.

Life's greatest pleasures come from such as these..
Thus ends my sonnet to the port and cheese.

’Deer dearest heart, this is superb, witty of course clever naturally and such a wonderful well written sonnet. There’s nothing I love more than cheese an wine, unless it’s chocolate. Doesn’t really go with wine, not even a dessert wine, and definitely not with port. Perfect way to end a meal

This is excellent writing and since my abominable daughter isn’t here I get to answer first.

Krissy darling that's points to me my darling daughter, face it Krissy darling you are trailing big time Some people simply have it and some Kristie Paula Jane Searle don’t

I did tell you 'Deer this was Splendiferous didn't I? Well, it is exquisite writing

Love and warm stuff

A wine and cheese tasting with a difference.
Is this like a cup of wine, a slab of cheese and thou beside me on the picnic blanket...

LMAO on this one. Wine and cheese, if you please, but YUCK no roquefort, please! And ole Mac Donald's? Not on your life! Give me some good gouda with some white zinfandel, please. With ak-mak Armenian crackers or at least some Wheat Thins. But absolutelty no Macs!!!!  Actually, today it's pepper jack, tortillas, rice and beans, and salsa too, for it is Cinco de Mayo. (LOL, but I'm drinking grenache instead of Dos Equis!)

I'll sit with you my love and drink some wine
I'll take a Sauvignon if that's alright
My lips? Oh really thank you they are fine
Much sweeter than a grape? I think they might

A slice of cheese you want? Oké it's here
You want the Camembert or Danish Blue
I'm out of Brie I think my lovely Deer
But I have lots of other things for you

I'll sip with you and taste throughout the night
We giggle till the start of dawn for sure
You'll kiss my lips each time I take a bite?
Oh dear oh dear what things must I endure

The port and cheese my Deer, I love them so
Just name a date and on the plane I'll go
