Bonnie Bailey, a maiden she went out to go a walkin' to the great place of native grace a town called Manahawkin. Into, she strolled, this town of old Then did she start a balkin' at the feared sight, a fool's delight... The mundane Manahawkin. "How could this be?" she cried sadly (to the town she was talkin') "What has happened to this legend, of the grand Manahawkin?" "There is no grace within this place, this dump that I've been stalkin' 'Tis just a town like all around... 'Tis just plain Manahawkin. Bonnie Bailey, a sad girl she went on with her a walkin' Oh, sad as she seemed, she still dreamed of the famed Manahawkin. (This was inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem "Eldorado") |

(big hugggsssssss) This is so very sad, sweet friend, I too always think about ghost-towns and historical monuments too an I always wonder about the legends of how they came to be and it always makes me sad to see how things change so much! (kiss on cheek) This is an excellent inspiring poem, sweet friend, I too am a big Edgar Allen Poe fan, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bonnie, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
