As hourglass sand continues its descent
To mark all moments of the passing days
I question what existence truly meant
As I begin to enter final phase.

Be there a God in Heaven who awaits
As scholars deem to indicate is true?
Angelic figures stationed at the gates
To give warm welcome as life bids adieu?

Or do the facts deny the lessons taught?
Can it be true there is no soul to save,
That everything we strive for is for naught,
Condemned to cease existence at the grave?

Confessing not to know what death contains
My hope for everlasting life remains.

Your hope
my prayer

I have a feeling it shall be granted
just because you asked so sonnetly...

Balladeer,
Mine too. But saving this shell and its limited possibilities makes no sense to me.
Beautiful poem.

I ache to know what lies beyond the door,

~*As I begin to enter final phase*~

You're 80 already???

Seriously I wouldn't know what's beyond the door.
I think I just want to rest in peace and keep my spirit with me.

Beautiful sonnet though

a HUG and a KNUFFEL and a CUDDLE too

’Deer dearest heart oh my this is utterly utterly wonderful, your pen is perfectly poetical. I love I love it utterly utterly And this is so spectacular, gently softly reverential. The questing thought that is eternally unknown, but for some faith is enough and this is life affirming. This is exquisite darling heart, absolutely exquisite.

Sometimes you drop pearls of wisdom into quiet pools of wonder, and the ripples across that silent pool of thought reach out to another soul, this is such a time. Utterly breathtakingly perfect. Thank you for this beauteous gift

You know I love this don’t you? Of course you do. Absolutely perfect writing
