I guess I rode too many trails- Too many bridges burned... Too many wrong decisions made- Too much I haven't learned. Too many times I thought I've loved- To find that I was wrong. The trail that I am traveling- Will end before too long. I once was young and reckless- And now I'm old and hard... A cynic, and a loner... With his heart and body scarred. My only friend, the gun I own- On which I can depend... It seems I've carried all my life, And will until the end. I know that he is waiting- An old persistent foe... Who's haunted me, and hounded me For twenty years, or so... Sometimes it seems he is so close, I feel his fetid breath... In case you haven't figured out, I speak of old man Death. Some people fear his boney hand- And shun his company... I seek that long awaited meet... For then I shall be free. [This message has been edited by Gunslinger (04-09-2002 06:05 PM).] |

(sigh) This is powerfully bittersweet, sweet friend, there will come a day when you do accept it, but until then, live your life to the fullest and hol all your dreams true to your golden heart and believe in them always! (big huggssssss) we all love you so much, sweet friend, this is brilliant! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet John, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! This is good very good... but you've still a long way to go in that saddle still hitched to the horse... |
