~* Out Of Nowhere *~ © Mysteria 11/2001 When my muse is moody I take her to the ocean. There’s something about the water when its calm that soothes the soul and kindles the fires of the mind. I sit there and ponder my inner most thoughts about my life, past loves, and how I miss the laughter of someone I shared my life with. I delve into both sad and pleasant memories, but mostly I think about all the things I feel I don’t have enough of to completely satisfy me. This time I decided to approach these ponderings with a completely different perspective. I would sit and think about all that I had, for surely my ever so moody and misbehaving muse would find a topic that held her interest, and she would then herald its wealth in poetry. This was more difficult than I ever could have imagined. For having a “cup half empty” mentality, made it easy to say, “What do I have?Nothing!” Oh, I knew I had the usual God given gifts, health, love of family, friends, and faith as I know it to be. I was trapped in a maze of negative thought, but then out of nowhere - it hit me! In the silence of this exercise by the water I knew what I had.I had something so precious. I had rights! Yes, the right to turn my silent thoughts to words spoken out loud, or written for all to see, whether they were positive or negative. That one single word was priceless. ~* Freedom. *~ I smiled, and said a prayer for those you had less than I do. I prayed that one day they too had the right to share their silent thoughts and knew freedom. Imagination is more important that knowledge |

BRAVO! Yes, the simple rights and freedoms we often take for granted are still elusive dreams for many people. Thanks for speaking out for those who do not enjoy the freedom to speak out openly. |

Thank you all, I got to thinking about those women who had some freedom now, and how foreign it was going to be to them and it actually brought tears to my eyes. Imagination is more important that knowledge |

BRAVO!!! Yes, yes, oh, this is so very true, and as long as you always fight for your rights, you can never go wrong and you will only continue to win and find all the wonderful things you miss again and find true stillness of heart! (big huggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Mysteria You do not need a muse to write This is an absolutely wonderful poem and it came soley from your brilliant mind. APPLAUSE from this corner. Incidentally, St. Peter's Village is in the poem. "A Pebble", which I rewrote . LOvely work, my dear Liz |

Sharon, I couldn't agree with you more. As a cashier, I see people from all different ethnic roots every day. I realize that although I can recognise them from their dress (some veiled, some just scarved) that these women are now free to persue their dreams, their desires and yes to persue their religious beliefs and traditions as much or as little as they see fit. And I thank God for the freedom we have everyday. Never should we take it for granted or waste such a precious gift..... Well done!!!! Sherry Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. |
