Perpetual Memory

When my memory fails
will you sing to me
the songs in my heart
that lie silently

And whisper with kisses
of our walks in the rain
when splashing in moments
of loving again

Will you whisper your tender
with afternoon eyes
and love me 'til evening
'til the dark carries sighs

And the days become nights
within arms to be laced
when my memory fails
will you capture it's place?

In the shadows of moonlight
when thoughts disappear
caressing with lips
will you kiss away fear

In the candlelight touches
holding moments with me
Will you share in my journey
making new "memory"

When my memory fails
into eyes of mine, stare
all the moments of you
shall be mirrored in there.
M
this was something I wrote when thinking about  aging...and love...I haven't thought about death yet or afterdeath remembering..

Thanks Marge, I wrote this  about 2 years ago,
thinking about those who are elderly
( more so than I) and  what they want from life..that shows in their eyes if not through their voices..

Maureen~ I so enjoyed the feelings this evoked.  It does make one think about the loss of memories when our memory can no longer remember them.  I don't even want to think about it but this was such a lovely poem.

Take your sweet time on writing about death or life after......there's no rush!!
