Mommy wheres Daddy? Why is He away? Don't leave me mommy. I'm cold, please stay. Shh Darling, don't worry. Here take my hand; God will take care of us. He has everything Planned. Mommy, what is this? Whats Wrong? Am I dying? Come here sweetie, Its Ok your Just crying. Mommy I love you so much. And I always will love you. I know sweetie,I know, And you know I love you too. Now Shh, quite, go to bed, You need to get your rest. And happy birthday sweetie, The years ahead are the best. Sorry your dad was'nt here. And I'll get you your Kite; Now go to sleep honey, Everything will be alright. She quitely walks to the door, Then looks back at her son. And can't help but wonder; What it is he will become. As she closes the door, A tear forms in her eye She leans against the wall. And softly begins to cry. Then she hears her husbands voice. Hello is there anybody here? And she feels a stab of pain, As she's taken over by fear. She walks to the bedroom, Trying not to make a sound. Hoping he'll fall asleep on the couch, And mabey she won't be found. Everything is dead quiet; For a minute or two, She wipes away her tears. Afraid of what he'll do. The bedroom door opens up, And her husband stumbles in. She smells the liquor from the bed, And knows where he's been. Delvin Please stay away, I can tell your drunk again. Fine Just make somthing toeat, And I promise I won't begin. Del, We Don't have any food. I made the last of it today, I'm sure you forgot. But it is you son's birthday. What, what, out of food? I gave you $200 yesterday! I know, I bought your son a cake And plus we had bills to pay. You worthless piece of crap, Why do I put up with you? You seem to mess up, On everything that you do. He stumbles over to the bed, And slaps her across the face. Her blood rushes to her head, As her heart begins to race. She hears him shouting, But can't understand a word. She trys to open her eyes, But everything is blurred. He hits her again, Knocking her onto the floor. She screams in pain. And stumbles for the door. She looks up and sees an image, Standing in her way; Knowing it's her son she whispers, I'm ok honey just go and play. But he bends over her, And wraps his arms around her tight, And whispers in her ear. I'm not leaving you tonight! They lay there for a moment; Not knowing what to do, And finally stand to their feet, Knowing that this is through. They stand there and look, At the body spraled on the floor. And decide to leave him there. And quietly close the door. I'ts so sad to think that this sort of thing happens every day. |

(tears fall down my cheeks) This is soooooo terribly heartbreaking, sweet friend, I too can't understand how cruel people can be sometimes and families always have to endure these tragedies everyday in life! (big hugggssssss) My heart cries out to all the children affected by this and I pray them all for comfort and prayers, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Good write. Keep shining the light of darkness. I won't comment further as I get very angry and inappropriate. ((Casanova)) -newell Sharing God's Love through perfectlovepoetry.com Copyright: 2002 Newell Elsworth Usher [This message has been edited by Silver Streak (04-28-2002 11:30 PM).] |

This was very good. It looked long, but it went quickly. Yes, I agree, it is very sad, and I am very very grateful that I have not had that sort of experience. I know two people who have, and that's two people too many. There's nothing else for me to say, except that this poem was very effective. |
