It's a glitch in 98SE or has something to do with my setup, but either way I can't seem to lock my folder options in Windows Explorer.

They will lock if the 'set all folders like this one' option is checked but the remember each folder's settings will not lock individual settings.

I have the main IDE Drive and two scuzi drives. I'm wondering if it's a conflict between the two styles of drives or how windows was reloaded onto the system.

It's not a major issue just an inconvenience if anybody has any ideas let me know.

LOL

I am of no help.

My home computer is coughing, hacking and spitting up.

The browser has been hijacked.

*sigh*

Windows won't see any difference between your IDE and SCSI (Small Computer System Interface, but yea, usually pronounced scuzi   ) drives, because the device drivers will hide any such differences. Unfortunately, I retired my last Win98 machine last year and don't remember any options for locking individual windows (they won't change any way as long as they're open, and once they're closed they no longer exist to be locked?).

Not much help, I know.

Well thanks for responding ladies

I'm generally very good with software glitches but just can't figure this one out. Curse you Bill Gates! Er..unless you were willing to share some of those billions with me?..No? Well damn you Bill Gates!

Thanks Ron, didn't see your response last night. I didn't think it was the scuzis(SCSIs) but I'm grasping at straws at this point. There are two folder options, to keep all folders the same, or to remember each folders individual properties. You would think this basic enough programming that Microsoft would get this right. I'm now thinking it has to do with one of the myriad of updates I loaded upon reinstalling windows. Thanks for the try, not a major problem but enough of an annoyance that i had to ask.
