Ok...I did a bad, bad thing. I changed passwords to my regular ISP account because "they" say [you know "they"...the ones who believe password changes should be done more often than not] and last night I could get into my machine just fine. This morning, I couldn't get in, and called the ISP. They ran me through the Iditerod of changing my network to a new number and all of that, and I remember [at 5:17 a.m.] that they had me uncheck my "Firewall". Now, I'm getting messages every 20 minutes or so that "NT Authority System" is going to shut me down "because the RPC service terminated unexpectedly." What the heck is that? Can anyone help? |

Sunshine- I HATE to be the bearer of ill tidings (especially since they (you know who "they" are lol) tend to shoot the messenger, however, you have been infected with the blaster virus that hit the internet last month. My computer got it, my best friend's computer got it, and even the Dept. of Defense got it... You are the next contestant. If you go to: http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp You will be able to get rid of that nasty little bugger... If your computer doesn't stay on long enough (my challenge) then call your ISP and they should be able to assist you. herer's hoping all turns out well... We are all equal but we’re individually different |
