lol

found the sucker on my computer(probably from 3dMax) and removed it. though i was thorough in removing it from the registry, i still had problems on boot-up. went into the system.ini to see if it left any traces and sure enough..erased it and now things are okay. still, quite annoying what these things can do

Reminded me to run some scans, and found me some buggers. How I yearn for the day when the creators and distributors of those nefarious critters will be hooked up to car batteries with alligator clips. Ah, now that would be Heaven.

LOL at Alicat's comment, as I had a similar prayer for the morning, after spending over half an hour removing buggers and spies ffrom mine, and still have someone targeting me that slips through with junk mail. SIGH, when will they find something constructive to do????

sometimes,i'd rather a virus then spyware(well not really). i mean how much is enough for advertisers that they have to resort to spying on/for potential customers? it's lowly, it's pathetic, it's almost orwellian..

oh by the way, wanted to thank you guys for suggesting avg, excellent program. using sygate as a firewall but have had some troubles with it

Raph, I also use AdAware, run it at least 3x week. And SpyBot. Still, there are a few creepers lurking about, at least one that is somehow connected with someone who is on my so-called 'safe' list

and they keep sending me some religious stuff I don't want

im using spysweeper, thats how i caught it as most anti-virus software seems to ignore ad/spyware. it's just silly, you can't even surf in peace

I haven't tried that one, but spybot always catches some, and ad aware gets a few each time I surf.
Grrr, hate those dirty little buggers!
