Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-02-16 12:28 PM

This is a little thing I wrote for a friend who was going through a rough time. It has kept me in check, also from time to time. I'm happy to share it, and hopefully it will touch someone's heart in the same way:

"Hope"

Awaken in the morning, so
Not to sleep the whole day through
Although that's what you might like
To do, you musn't. You must face a new
Day that may just ring a different
Tune or sing a differnet song
You might find a place where you belong
Or find a heart that sings like you
Whatever this day brings to you
Conquer it and go to bed
Satisfied that you had lead
The greatest day that you've had yet
And dream of all the things you'll do
Tomorrow, yes, you'll last all through
The day of conquering obstacles strew.
Yes, conquer it and start anew.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

How did I miss THAT one?
Now I have to go through all your poems and make sure I have read them all!

Great Stuff

I like your honesty that you release and reveal in your words in all of your work. Straight forward.

passing shadows: I'm surprised I didn't see your comment sooner!! Thank you!!!
Albert: You know I always love your words, no matter what you're saying it always seems to warm my heart. Thank you for that.

We all need hope in such times...wonderful poem. We all need a chance to start anew, every now and then, as well. ^^

Every heart has hidden treasures...a secret wish, a silent dream, and a cherished love. [Unknown]
