Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-02-27 11:56 AM

River rolling over stones
Babbling tales of old
Tell me, River, who am I?
Who am I meant to be?

Babbling River, answer me
Before you run to sea
Rolling River you know the secrets
Of all enslaved and free.

Knowing River, please don't whisper-
I need to know the truth
And be not mistaken
By an imitation
Of lies and cold untruths

River, River flowing fast
Have you not one second free?
Surely you've enough time to spare
For a person such as me.

Fleeing River, why do you run
Away from me quickly?
What is my tale? Why don't you tell?
Oh River, set me free

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

(smiles) All you must do is listen, dearest friend, for, like Siddhartha discovered, the word of Ohm flows with the water and just by listening and realizing the grand beauty of the river, that every spirit of the Earth flows with the water, is enlightening, and knowing such life exists brings strength! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderful, you have my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lauren, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Poet: You're absolutely right. I was actually happy when I wrote this one. I was laying outside with a pen and paper, breathing in the summer air, and that's just what came out. This is, in fact, an older poem of mine, but found it and decided to share it
Thanks vandana! (=

Wow! I really like this one!! I can feel your urgency in the later parts as though the river was indeed trying to run away, to escape telling the truth.
