Snake bite…. Villahermosa was not that far from Tabasco, a bit more than a step away Konrad ran, literally ran there, too… for the skin of the ocelot had turned into snake and wiggled into worm… dead worms. No….dead memories, come alive. Even in daylight, figures and fugitives melted into the heat of the morning and rose like shimmers on blacktop before him. Damn it! Why was Jackson so transparent, like watered down milk, and why was he, Konrad, so sick at his stomach? He felt as if he had indeed taken the boat to Belize, and he needed Dana more than he wanted to admit, he needed more… he needed conclusion… but memories were rumbling in, as mixed up as gruel takes in a tidbit of raisin for taste, and cinnamon spices for life, Konrad was tasting too much life right now… damn worms. Damn life. He looked around, as if ghosts might turn human, tap him on his shoulder, remind him that he was not alone… he waited for fear to hit, again. |

Sunshine, when I saw the title of this poem, it reminded me, when I was in the country. In the spring and summer, I always saw snakes on the road. A few got a little too close for my comfort. Believe me, I sure won't be missing those this spring and summer. |

Even in daylight, figures and fugitives melted into the heat of the morning and rose like shimmers on blacktop before him. =========================== very cool imagery. Me thinks Konnie and Jackson need to give up drinking...these boys cant handle the worm... Jackson is dreamin crazy and Konnie is always hungover with head and stomach aches. Good thing Jake is a cowboy who can handle his liquor heh Where the touch of lovers end and the soul of friends begin, |

Susan... maybe I an help you out here... I think I started this whole thing with a series of poems written over the last two or 3 years about Iambe. Konrad, Jake, Jackson, and Dillon are all characters written by Sunshine, Martie, janet marie, and Duncan. They are also all "loosely" woven together into a family story written from different perspectives... I challenged everyone that had been readin gthe Iambe series to write their own character...when I also decided to quit writing about Iambe.... the stories you find..are all in the archives or this open... unfortuanelty..you'll have to do a bit of searching to find them all... good luck.. the read from their pens is well worth the effort... |

Sheesh, I could feel the fear. I'm moving on. M xx The clouds never expect it when it rains, but the sea, changes colours, but the sea, does not change. |
