This pendulum's monotonous swing As seconds wither and topple to the earth Counts and measures each line who passes by Though none could ransom my heart held captive Ensnared by recollection of a shallow meeting Waves clap against this ship, whose precious cargo Is greeted only by turn of head and neglect Yet of its necessity I am aware But I shan't allow its import I instead should harbor those unloaded And docked for many day's time As not to wish the unlike a warm welcome But to shun the very waves on which it sailed And in these sylvan shades of a thought wrongly cherished I flee the light knowingly shed, and rightly so The sun's luminous gaze, one I fear to reflect As with my gilded noose I am contentedly hung In this gulf I peacefully tread To sink, perhaps to drown And wish to someday wash ashore |

Whoa! ~Welcome to Passions~ No idea why this has so few replies. Perhaps, like me, others had a busy week-end...no time to read. I really enjoyed this a great deal!!! Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
