Ever walk out of your comfortable element open those French doors on your Versailles gardens and you share an apprehensive look at one corner, where the wind has struck and done its damage but you'd say that this is the Versailles and the place will always remain the same. Have you seen the tree that Marie Antoinette used to read by? can you imagine it too will be windblown one day just like her misdemeanor towards her subjects, just like bits off a penny loaf... as if bread is outdated on global scales and crumbs don't mean anything to a park full of pigeons but a fine gust of wind finds reason to displace the powdered crust... or are you just 'all set' hammered on by continous inflationary spirals yet tempted by the seduction of new milky ways; ever walk out on the faucet drip into a sink stacked with weekend clutter? no, you wouldn't want to upset your distant plans... although distant is not that far off when you play with dangerous toys and polish the fine metallic finish of the 'real McCoy'. Walk out of an element and into another work up a sweat over a banal heart flutter sit by her tree and watch it sway its rich soil base turned into clay where were those rains that you needed to replenish the soils of your Versaille garden 'cause the crust you tread on has crumbled you see you undermine the penny loaf and the subjects it feeds. You're a fine philosopher and an astute observer of life--and you have the intelligence, imagination, and talent to convey your thoughts very well! Warm nighttime hugs, EA |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Martin, I agree with Linda, you are very astute and hold so much validity to the wisdom and everything that is worth writing about, I too felt I was walking around the Hall of Mirrors and stepping out onto the French countryside! (sigh) This is remarkable, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Linda, Oh I wasn't expecting all those complements...but the power of keen observation I'd say is traditional...and honed by a keen sense of survival...thanks for your kind words and how they make me feel |

Martin, This does remind me of some of the experimental work of August Highland. He has an ability to mix political/social themes--with more grounded images. Having the tree as a center for this piece--something natural, growing, changing, but still rooted in one spot unable to move--very telling of the subject you used to associate with it. Very nicely executed, thank you very much. --Matt Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think. |

Well done, Martin. I enjoy your composites of past, present, future. |

Thought is would be a natural alliteration what else to we associate with the changing seasons, thinking that with spring there is 'change' yet our habits can be just as difficult to uproot. "Having the tree as a center for this piece--something natural, growing, changing, but still rooted in one spot unable to move--very telling of the subject you used to associate with it." Your writing is changing a bit I think, and I for one am really enjoying the subtle transition - especially this piece. |

Mysteria, Good to hear that, in fact I can see that I am now longer happy with the shorter verses, and limited meter per line, am also writing freelance so I think the result comes fro the fusion of my past style of the past 2 years and my prose and article work. |

Ratleader, just thinking how people used to venerate rats in the past and condemn cats...your pseudo reminded me of the transition in our preferences...the riddle element keeps the bookish form from floundering I think...and all this was mostly spontaneous...here's to our health and wealth of poetic material! |
