the secret lover My love for you,it cannot be, It hides itself where none can see. You in your innocence do not know, That my eyes follow ,as you come and go. I love the sight of your golden head, As sleepy eyed and soon from bed, Wrapped in your black coat,you hurry and go, To where ,to what,I do not know. And how wearily you drag your feet, As you return each night to my darkened street. I wait,and I watch,but must never greet, The golden haired girl I so long to meet. If i spoke of love would you understand , Smile,talk and hold my hand? My love for you,it cannot be. It hides itself where none can see. arthur |
