The Journey, Part V Ginger’s Challenge 20. If I Could Write A Column “this was his last father/daughter gift… the one they would always hold in gold… and he watched as his dream for his Sagittarian child became one with the animal,” ~*~ Now, in her spell of solitary, being one with beast, she dismounted, and stood young on terra firma, and gathered in herself sun’s energy, with the essence of awareness beginning to seep in, slowly, where it was she should have been – for the first time, keenly kindred with eons and she bent, to touch earth, caressing stems of grass, plucking heads of energy encapsulated in seeds of moment ~ and it began, this ripple, of what she would be leaving behind, and going towards, and now centuries of blood coursed warm in realization of all that had been, steps taken to bring her to this flash, and knowing a blink would either bring tears, or determination, as she realized the land was made of bone and dust, growth and death, promise, and destiny… for this dawning time, she found the native land welcoming her once again, in the Midwest, finally comprehending that though salt of sea had fed her youth, her footsteps belonged here, to take her where her time had first come about – as the wisps of yesterday began to part, but it was too much, too soon, and the wisps receded, but the memories had not… and they whispered, give us time, and we will visit you, again, but only if you stay close for here is where our voices are strong, where you will feel the timbre of shudder as you trod once again, the plains song, and bring the light forth once more… but she was sure it was just the meadowlark’s song as it was the ring-neck pheasant’s flight into the bluest skies that burned into her eyes… for as she remounted her horse, aware of a new sense of serenity, for no matter what steps she might take she would be walking them for reasons beyond her ken, and for the moment she became confident she would touch stone and understand in full as a sketch of time would fall beneath her hand to unfold in Ginger’s column. ~*~ Larry Chadwick’s Challenge: /pip/Forum7/HTML/000552.html The hat is still waiting for you to reach in. Larry…I hope this has met your challenge… and I hope that you believe Ginger is smiling… As others will come, to add to her list… And will feel the growth of her wisdom, That she brought to us, through you. Sunshine, each installment was a gem, each image a treasure and the whole piece was a sparkling reminder of what words can do. Brilliant! Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Karilea, ====================================== for no matter what steps she might take she would be walking them for reasons beyond her ken, and for the moment she became confident she would touch stone and understand in full ====================================== This states what I only understood after she was gone. But this five part column you have written is a gift most precious to me. I will always cherish it and the tender heart which created it. Thank you dear friend. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
