Memories are stored into our minds
to settle into our heart
They help make who we are
of our personality a major part

Scattered amongst the happy ones
are some of the other kind
The ones we wish had disappeared
never returning to our mind

Those are the bad memories
of things we wish we never heard
Flashes of heartaches, pain, turmoil
even sometimes a hurtful word

We try not to dwell on those
for they may bring tears to our eyes
The good memories are much easier
where much happiness lies

Happy memories of days gone by
of joy, laughter and love
Of fun times, happiness, peace
these we had much rather think of
