standing on a shadow's lace

Carried Too Far

it took
one moment
to fall
from grace
no forgiveness
from error
and stretching wings
can only
carry you so far
in severed connections
to an aching heart
melted courage
to indulge
passions inspire
lacking wings now
of destination
all carried too far
