she longs to feel
the pouring rain,

in its deluge,

release her pain,

in open view
of sky and air,

a single tear,

upon her face,

in stately grace,

she casts
this trace,

the last,
of him,

on whim,

then trades,

her fear,
to wear,

a first of season,
flower,

near,

her heart,
so dear,

and sees
the moment

ever clear,

his love
was never
truly there
