empty eyes gaze through soul windows painted shut by moments wasted walking barefoot on grass that never got greener; the “now” of them becomes days and months and years and never-- tired eyes search a kaleidoscope prison praying for any sun to dry brittle tears and shine on parchment cheeks; “soon” their prayer, “soon” begging light (and salvation), lest they become stained glass images of themselves and The Watchers watch with youthful hindsight and a wrist turn of the peephole as faces become one in a mirror that will not lie; 'look at me, look at you' whispers the mirror to The Watchers-- 'we were once so much more than dust' . . . Quite revealing, the photo alone... reminds me how important it is for me, ...to rid myself, of the child and parent within of residual pain which otherwise would imprison me...and otherwise cause a multiplicity of evergrowing watchers....rather than..growing into the whole of and complete of, the adult of who I am. Not an easy task, but when the want to is there, God gives us the knowhow... Very complicated indeed.... Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. a fantastic write to an exquisite piece of art, the colors in it so vibrant, yet begging of the light to help them shine Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

You know I have never quite read a piece of poetry that hit its mark more than this one did. I was amazed at a couple of these comments as well. Excellent job, and nice to "see" you here too. You always were the poet I rushed to read daily to learn from, and now will be able to do that again. By the way, looking forward to the Vixen in MC she rocks! |
