The Art of Being

The mind whispers strings of beaded mantras
counted as prayers on rosaries
learned from his song-lessons,
teachings of the art of clear vision -

a practice of delving from self
to know the ache of loss in others,
to let rain cleansing, benevolent tears.
This is where we find purpose.

I never saw him, truly, clearly,
a flash of a green in periphery’s glance,
still, I hold his teachings as sword and shield,
strength against death
and sun-lit days gone black.

I never saw you, truly, clearly,
a grassy-green gaze turned in sideways glance,
still, I hold your teachings as sword and shield,
defense against death and darkened sun-lit days,

to find the place where strength lies.

The whole poem is going in my library,
Corinne...but this struck me exceptionally hard...for several reasons, but all for love.

Thank you, my friend...

Won't you come home Corinne Bailey,
won't you come home ?

I'm taking the liberty of ONCE MORE
-ing this beauty to the top of the Daily Topics page ... for many reasons~

Mostly ... cause I want to ... and also because I can~
