Sub arbore lux The moon sparkles like a star tonight, willow tree, I sit there watching it drown your dry boughs, ,thin little slivers of leaves. It was long ago, I recall, when I watched the sun (sparkling like a moon) from branch to leaf on you. I (was better than light then .) remember whispering secrets into the loft of your wispy branches- my breath pittering with drips, drops. Sometimes the breeze would rustle and I could hear you murmur to the roots. Then, (for when clouds can move to greener skies), I drifted away. And you cracked with the wind. Ah, willow tree, maybe now I know why your blossoms grew dust, for spring ran by and I (fragilely) drifted away. If mists could will, I would my clouds against your silky leaves-- and break the light of the moon like a star. And then maybe you (frailly) could glisten with life again. |

Streen, you're a youngster by the look of ya. But, you seem to know your craft. This shows a fine hand, yessir. ~wranx "The shortest distance between two points is.....sometimes intolerable" ~Bukowski~ [This message has been edited by wranx (04-08-2003 06:15 PM).] |

If you write like a poet, have the soul of a poet, then a poet you must be! From a fellow tree lover, Warm hugs, Earth Angel |
